Surround Encoder 1.95

Realtime Surround-Encoder with peakmeters for Falcon 030.
SoundPool´s Surround Encoder encodes a four channel mix created by a mixer capable of surround-panning (i.e. a surround mix with left, right, center and surround channels) into a stereo audio file. The thus encoded audio signal is storable just as normal stereo audio material on DAT, CD, ADAT or cassette.
These recordings are then decodable by standard consumer-type surround decoders and played back on home surround hifi systems which reproduce the four surround channels (left, right, centre and surround) from the two encoded channels.

Encoding is done in real time. This makes it possible to feed the encoded signal directly into a decoder for studio monitoring purposes during production.

User Interface.
The surround encoder features an intuitive window-based operating surface. The main operating elements are six peak meters and six virtual faders.

Six peak meters.
The six real time peak meters represent the four input channels (left, right, centre and surround) and the two computed output channels, enabling easy monitoring of signal levels.

Level Control.
Six virtual sliders serve to control the levels of all channels for easy control of the encoding process. Output level can be decreased only.

Software Characteristics.
- Intuitive and easy-to-operate user interface.
- Original SoundPool high-quality encoding process, compatible with most surround decoders.
- Fully digital encoding, which means that audio material suffers no loss of quality through the encoding process.
- Real time processing. The encoded signal can be monitored from the Falcon´s D/A, SPDIF or ADAT output.
- Full support of SoundPool´s ADAT interface for digital input of the four surround channels.
