MATRIX.PRG

MATRIX.PRG is a SoundPool program identical to Steinberg's FDI_INIT.PRG, in fact the SoundPool hardware devices delivered a license to Steinberg to share their brand in some of them.

MATRIX.PRG; to be able to work with the SoundPool SPDIF or Steinberg FDI interface you must copy this file to the AUTO Folder of your boot partition. If you have a Hard Disk, this is the C: partition (if there is no AUTO folder on C:, create one named AUTO).
If you do not have a Hard Disk, you can use a floppy disk with an AUTO folder on it, and copy it there; The SPDIF / FDI does not make much sense without a Hard Disk, however. Note that the MATRIX.PRG or FDI_INIT.PRG must be installed for:

Cubase Audio, Logic Audio, FDISTREAM, DATADAT, CDRecorder Audio, WaveMaster and AudioSlide u.a.

AudioMaster, AudioTracker and the programs of the SoundPool Mastering Suite (Analyzer, DeNoiser, EQ, Dynamite etc) do not need this patch.
SoundPool's FFT-Analyser with peak meter serves not only as an optical control device for studio recordings but also as a precision measuring instrument for audio engineers. The DSP program is available as an independant GEM-program as well as an optional plug-in for the Audio Master System.
Inputs
There is the possibility of leading the audio-signal or whichever type of signal you intend to analyze through the Falcon's analog input. However, we recommend using an external A/D converter (e.g. DAT-recorder) which is digitally linked to the Falcon through the SPDIF Digital Audio Interface. This interface lets you select the standard frequencies 44.1 or 48 kHz.

Analyser.
Display and Features
The Falcon's DSP enables analysis of audio signals in realtime and a display of the individual frequencies in linear mode, logarithmic or as 3rd bands. All displays are, in addition, available in 3-D mode and as a so called 'Sonogramm', that displays the frequencie's levels as colors.
The graduation of the x and y axes in the display are adjustable, the cursor position is displayed in Hz and dB. This allows precise measurements in all frequency and volume ranges with a precision of 5 Hz at 48 kHz. The display's release and delay time are also adjustable.

Record and Play Funktion.
Analyser is capable to record and playback Audio Files in AIFF format on harddisk. In 'offline' mode files on harddisk can be processed e.g. for high resolution sonogramm graphics calculation.
